Over a span exceeding 60 years, R.A. ‘Bob’ Hoover has represented the epitome of aviation professionalism in his military and civilian careers. Bob’s continued drive for excellence in aviation and business is a model for future generations.
The Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation supports educational development and mentoring to people of all ages who are pursuing careers in aviation and aerospace.
Through accredited institutions of higher education, the foundation will provide scholarships to deserving people who exhibit qualities representing the intellect, drive and generosity representative of future leaders.
In addition to financial scholarships, Bob’s wish is that the foundation provides enhanced safety training, mentoring and networking opportunities and is dedicated to partnering with other aviation/aerospace organizations adhering to the same basic precepts.
Together, we can make a difference in the aviation industry and keep Bob’s legacy alive in future American aviation leaders!

The Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation was established by Bob prior to his death on Oct. 25, 2016. Its purpose is to perpetuate the dedication to excellence, integrity, leaning and mentorship that drove his legendary aviation career by financially supporting educational institutions and the development of the next generation of American aviation leadership. The Foundation is a 501C3 tax deductible organization.
To Preserve R.A. ‘Bob’ Hoover’s Legacy of Aviation Learning and Safety for Future generations.
To educate the next generation on the art of flying as demonstrated by the life and accomplishments of Robert A. “Bob” Hoover. To support a higher level of aviation compentency with scholarships, and funding of organizations that promote aviation and the legacy of aviation.

I found out my eyes were weak and I also found out that I had nausea air sickness every time I got off the ground. My first flight, that was devastating to me because I dreamed of nothing else and I decided that I was not going to accept that I could not do what I really wanted to do, and it was to become a pilot.”
